Crystal Lake, Harrison, ME - Barn Sale and Brunch

Cloudy day, after two days of torrential rains, but still some beautiful foliage around Crystal Lake, Harrison, ME.  On our way to a Barn Sale and then brunch at the Old Mill Tavern.

Didn't find anything to buy at the Barn Sale but I thought this little garden shed was so cute I had to take a picture.

I hope your day is as special as you are.

Winnie the Pooh turns 90 y.o.

While browsing the internet this morning I read somewhere that Winnie the Pooh turned 90 years old.  There was this sweet little scene of Christopher Robin with everyone looking over the railing of a bridge.  Hmmmm, I thought.........shouldn't someone make them look their age?

So, I printed out the picture and updated it a bit.   What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Family Visits

Wonderful beginning to our week with my brother Rick and his wife Jeanne visiting for a few days.

We did lots of leaf-peeping at the Artist's Covered Bridge in Newry, Maine...........

The Artist's Covered Bridge (as it is known as) is the most photographed and painted covered bridge in Maine.  As you can see, we really were in a drought this summer because this river bed is usually flowing.

Some nice lady offered to snap a pic of me and Mike............
That was so thoughtful.  We actually don't have very many of us at all.

After visiting the bridge we headed off to Grafton Notch State Park.  It is know for it's many trail heads leading to the Appalachian Trail.

It was a gorgeous day with temps in the sixties and just the right amount of breeze.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Wish you could have been there too.

What a Difference a Day Makes.........and New Carpeting Too!

I won't dare show you the old ratty blue stuff.  Take my word for it, this one is sooooooo much nicer.  The carpet installer was here from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. and did a fabulous job.

On to the next project..............
We all know, it never ends.

Thanks for visiting.

Weekly Ketchup - Sunday Oct. 9, 2016

This is what happens when my brother and sister-in-law visit and she wants to go to Wal-mart........we have an entourage.

Yep, that's our guys following along with the cart.

And,

then there is some horseplay in the toy department.

They are a "force" to be reckoned with..........

It has been a great weekend complete with some leaf peeping.

Even in the rain, the foliage is still so beautiful.

A new week begins starting with getting new wall-to-wall carpeting in the living room tomorrow morning.

I wish you a peaceful, pleasant week ahead.
Thanks for stopping by.

Learning to play "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen after 5 months

So, it's been 5 months since I bought this piano................
Practice has been a bit off while hubby was home recuperating from shoulder surgery.
But, I do think my playing is getting a bit smoother.
I still have to follow the sheet music though.  Just can't seem to memorize certain pieces of the song.  That is what makes it still a little choppy.

What do you think?  Any piano players have some advice?  Now that hubby is back to work I've extended my daily practice time.  Working on "Open Arms" by Journey and some "Hotel California" next.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I wish you a beautiful day.

On this day in 1951

I was born............ October 5, 1951.

This is me at 5 y.o. wearing my red Annie Oakley cowgirl suit.

This is me in 1969 - graduated from high school.

New Year's Eve (1969 - I loved that orange jumpsuit).

Somewhere along the line - (after a divorce from my first mistake, and then finding my real husband) -

I turned 50 y.o. and, graduated as a Registered Nurse.

Somewhere along the line I learned to paint.

After a short 10 year career as a Nurse, I retired........

and I get to enjoy the wonders of Maine.

At age 64-1/2 I bought an antique Mason & Hamlin Screwstringer upright piano at an auction and learned how to play.

Today I am 65 years old.  And wondering what the future holds.

It's an adventure, that's for sure.
 Thanks for stopping by.
