Keto On The Run

I am loving this Ketogenic diet.  High fat low carbohydrate and loads of new and tasty recipies. I have gone from 154 lbs. to 141 lbs. in about 9 weeks and I'm feeling great.  Hubby and I had planned a weekend get away and I was wondering how I would maintain my dieting while on the road but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

At one restaurant, The Pearl, in Rockland, ME,  I ordered the lobster/BLT and it was fantastic.

I removed the bun and only nibbled a few fries ( I just couldn't resist).  The lobster and BLT was so filling I didn't need the rest. Oh I did eat the cole slaw because I always have to have cole slaw.  It's an all time favorite of mine.  And can you beat that, two of my favorites in one, lobster and BLT.  I was in heaven.  Our lovely waitress Emma was a delight too.

The next morning, at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Thomaston, ME I approached the complimentary breakfast buffet wondering what I would be able to eat.  Lo and behold there was a lovely cheese omelet, loads of bacon, black coffee, and I added some almonds and one packet of ketchup, a tub of cream cheese and a tub of peanut butter.

This held me all day long. Wow!  Later that evening we stopped at a local Restaurant 99 and I ordered sirloin tips with two vegetable sides, carrots and cole slaw and thoroughly enjoyed it.   So there you have it, it's not that difficult to maintain eating Keto while on the run.  And I had brought along some almonds and Moon Cheese for snacking which I didn't even need to delve into.

Thanks for stopping by. If you are someone who is trying the Ketogenic way of eating I hope this has inspired you to keep going.  Enjoy your day!

    1. Thanks Linda. It's fun cooking again. I had gotten away from it for such a long time but eating out in restaurants was getting tedious and the menus limited. I hope you are having a wonderful week.

    1. Thanks Hilda. Learning to cook new things is loads of fun. I'm using almond flour, coconut flour and flax for low carb breads. Have never even thought of using these things before. Hubby keeps telling me how great the house smells after I've been cooking. LOL That's a good thing.
      Enjoy your day!
